Blogging meets itself in the mirror.
I am new to this, and have been at least mildly resistant to it for at least one reason: blogging seems to be terribly narcissistic.
As if everything else I do isn’t: MySpace, personal website, just being on stage in my band, etc.
So Doug and I discussed it yesterday. Blogging seems to be, at its best, Broadcast Journaling. That’s the best phrase I can think of to describe it.
And on a grander scale, it is a new method of communication between people that will undoubtedly affect the course of humanity and all of our social paradigms in a way that will be historically monumental.
If nothing else, its fun.
And if nothing else, a way to see into the minds of your friends in a way that you never get to when you spend time with them face to face. (Well that and getting to read blogs by guitar heroes)
-just some aging prayerchain dork.

I try to use it as a creative outlet. A friend of mine says that he uses things like his blog and twitter to make sure that he does something creative every day. I thought that was great. So I use mine as a primarily article-driven site, but I also throw up so randomness and some photography. It keeps me fresh and keeps me creative.
